Are you ready to get started? This tool can help you even if SEO is not your forte.
Let's see how Ubersuggest can help you grow your traffic.
Step 1: Create a project in Ubersuggest
Register for a free account at Ubersuggest by going to the dashboard.
After you have done that, click on "Add Your First Project."
[TAG1]
Next, enter your URL and your website name.
Next, choose the country or city where you do business. Next, type the country in which you do business if you are a national company. Click "Next" if you're a local business.
You can enter multiple cities or countries if you are doing business in them all at once. The left-hand side will display any websites that rank for the selected keywords.
You can also track other keywords, in addition to those you already know. Simply type the keywords that you wish to track into the box, and hit the "Enter” key.
[TAG2]
After you've selected the keywords that you wish to track, click the "Next" button to move on to the next step. Ubersuggest scans the location to find websites ranking for the same keywords that your website.
You can choose from the suggestions or manually enter competitors on the right-hand. Enter a website address, and hit enter.
[TAG3]
Ubersuggest will display Estimated Organic Traffic, and load Organic Keywords if you connect your project with your Google Account. Here's how you do it.
This will allow us to access your Google Analytics, Google Search Console and Google Search Console. This connection will allow us to display accurate estimates of organic traffic from Google Analytics and organic keywords using Google Search Console. Click on "Connect With Google" to initiate the connection.
[TAG4]
You will notice the signs of any tool connected to your project light up in the dashboard.
Click on the box marked "Tracked Keywords" to load your website profile.
This report shows you your rankings over time on both mobile and desktop devices. This is crucial because Google uses mobile first indexing which means that your mobile rankings are the standard reference point and not on desktop.
To see your ranking in Google's mobile index, toggle the "Mobile Tracking" icon.
[TAG5]
This report will show you your ranking over time for any keyword that you track. You can add keywords or switch locations.
[TAG6]
The best thing about the mobile report is that you can drill down to any keyword and track your rankings over the time. Here's an example of what my site looks like right now:
[TAG7]
This report will track your SEO progress. Your rankings should rise if you're moving in the right direction.
While your rankings may fluctuate between weeks, you can expect to see a steady increase in rank over time. Let's take a look at the Ubersuggest SEO audit to get a better idea of how to climb up in rank.
Step 2: Fix errors with Ubersuggest SEO Audit
After you've created your first project it's time for you to increase your rankings.
Go to the "Site Audit Report" first. Click on the "Site Audit” button in the navigation.
[TAG8]
Once you're there, enter your URL and click "Search".
The Ubersuggest SEO audit report can take some time, especially if there are more than 1000 pages. But once it is complete, it will look like this.
[TAG9] [TAG10]
Optimizing your website for the highest possible SEO score is your goal. You should aim for 90 points or more.
Remember that as your site grows, so will the difficulty of achieving a 90+ score. Sites with more than 100 pages should aim for at least 80.
You can see that I am at the 80 mark. I will need to call my team and get them to fix my mistakes and warn me so that I get closer to 90.
You will want to correct your critical errors first and then any warnings, if possible. You should also consider fixing the recommendations.
If you have any, click on the "Critical Errors". Click on "Warnings" if you don't have any. This is the report you'll get:
[TAG11]
While your errors may be more severe than mine, my report will still look the same.
You can click through to the first issue of the report, and then work your way down. Ubersuggest SEO audit reports sort the results according to impact. You should fix the ones that are at the top first, as they have the greatest chance of having an impact on your traffic.
[TAG12]
Click on the "What Is This?" and "How Do I Fix It?" prompts if you don't know what to do.
[TAG13]
You will need to do this again for any critical warnings or errors.
After you've done that, you can go back to the Site Audit report and scroll down until you see your site speed results.
[TAG14]
You should aim to achieve an "Excellent” ranking on mobile and desktop devices. Pagespeed Insights from Google will help you understand what you need to do to achieve this ranking.
This guide can be used to increase your page speed.
You will likely need to hire someone to assist you if you are like me. These databases will allow you to find a freelance developer and hire them to solve your problems for 50-100 dollars.
- Upwork
- TopTal
- Fiverr.com
- Scalable Path
https://youteam.io/blog/top-10-places-to-find-and-hire-freelance-developers/#TopTalAfter you fix your errors, you'll want to double-check to ensure you did them right.
Click the "Recrawl Website” button to have Ubersuggest crawl your site and double-check the errors are fixed.
[TAG15]
Ubersuggest will need to crawl your site again as it goes through your code.
Step 3: Use Ubersuggest for a Competitor Analysis
You have likely heard the expression "content is king" in your ears.
The theory goes that the more content on your site, the more keywords it will contain, and the better chance of ranking on Google for more terms.
The content must be high-quality and the topic must be interesting. You won't get traffic if you write about things that nobody wants to read.
Now, I'd like you to visit the "Traffic Analyzer Overview” report.
[TAG16]
Enter the URL of a competitor and you'll see a report similar to this.
[TAG17]
This report displays the estimated monthly traffic your competition receives from search engines. It also shows how many keywords they rank for on Google page 1. The top pages of their competitors, all major keywords they rank for and the estimated traffic each keyword drives their site.
You will need to visit the "Top Pages" section, and click on the link that says "View the Pages That Drive Traffic to This Domain."
[TAG18]
You will be taken to the report "Top Pages".
This will show you a list of the pages that your competitors have on their sites. You'll see the most popular pages at the top, and you'll start to see pages that receive less traffic as you scroll down.
[TAG19]
Click "View All" in the "Estimated Visitors" section to see the top page of your competitor's website.
[TAG20]
These keywords are what the page ranks for.
To see links to your competitors, click "View All" below the links.
You can save the list by either exporting it (just click on the export button), or copying it.
[TAG21]
This process should be repeated for the top 10-20 pages of each main competitor. This will give you an idea about the keywords that drive traffic.
Next, click on the tab "Keywords by traffic"
[TAG22]
A list of keywords that your competitor ranks for will be displayed. It will also show how much traffic they get for those keywords.
[TAG23]
This will give you an idea about the keywords your competition is targeting.
You can now combine the data from the "Top Pages", and the data from the "Keywords by Traffic" reports to get a better understanding of which keywords are driving traffic to your competitors. Better data will help you develop better keywords.
You can use some of these keywords to create your own blog post ideas.
Step 4: Create Better Blog Ideas With Ubersuggest
It is difficult to come up with blog post ideas. Ubersuggest is like a personal blog plan.
Ubersuggest allows you to generate ideas for a blog by simply looking at a few reports.
The "Content Ideas Report" is the first. Click on the "Content Ideas” button in the navigation bar.
[TAG24]
Enter one of the keywords that your competitor is ranking for and see how much traffic they receive:
[TAG25]
You can rank for SEO tips, for example. To rank for this term, simply enter it into the content ideas report, and click the "Search" button.
The list of blog posts with high traffic on the topic will be displayed. It is based on backlinks and social shares.
You will need to do some research in order to find great topics. A post should rank high in all three categories: backlinks, social shares, and estimated visits.
Click "Keywords" in the "Estimated Visitors" section to view the keywords the post ranks for.
[TAG26]
These keywords should be included in a similar post.
Click "Links" in the Backlinks section to see which competitors have links. This information will be useful later. This can be done by either copying the list, or clicking the export button.
The keyword ideas report will give you more ideas. Click on the button "Keyword Ideas" in the navigation bar.
[TAG27]
You can then type keywords that relate to your competition and see similar long-tail suggestions.
[TAG28]
To see a larger list of keywords related to your report, you can click the "Related” link.
[TAG29]
To see more keywords and ideas for blog posts, you can click on the "Questions", "Prepositions" and "Comparisons".
[TAG30]
The more popular a keyword is, the more traffic it will bring to your site.
Once you have your topic ideas and keywords, you can start writing and publishing your content.
Watch the video below if you're new to blogging. It will help you understand my writing process.
[TAG31]
This post will give you 100 ideas for blog posts in just a few minutes.
Step #5 – Use Ubersuggest for More Backlinks
SEO should be as easy as fixing mistakes and creating content based upon popular keywords. But it isn’t.
Do you remember how I asked you to create a list linking to your competition's sites?
These are the ones that you get from the "Top Pages", and "Content Ideas", reports.
Send an email to each site linking to your competition asking them to add you to their list. Check to see if anyone is linking to you.
It is a sign that they don’t mind linking to your site. You can probably convince them to link to your site.
To find their email address, you'll need to look around their website. Once you have found their email, send them a message explaining why your content is valuable to them and how it differs/betters from what they currently link to.
You can also visit the "Backlinks” report. Click on "Backlinks" in the navigation bar.
[TAG32]
This report will ask you to enter the domain of your competitor. This is how you'll get a report.
[TAG33]
Their total link count and link growth over time will be displayed. The most important thing is a list of sites that link to your competitors.
Enter the URL of a blog post your competitor has written, and make sure you use the search bar. You'll see the menu change to URL in the search bar. Click the "Search" button.
[TAG34]
After the report has finished loading, you will see a new list linking to the URL of your competitor's website.
[TAG35]
I ask you to do the exact same thing. Reach out to these URLs and request a link.
You'll be surprised at how many people ignore you. But, it is important to view this as selling. Follow up with people and try to convince them. Your rankings will rise the more you have links.
Even if it only convinces 5 people out 100 to email you, it's still a good thing as anything is better than nothing.
